Moving, intelligent, and beautifully written

Bewertung am 21.06.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2520792

Bewertet: eBook (ePUB)

Ariadne by Jennifer Saint moved me deeply. The novel retells the well-known Greek myth from the perspective of the women involved—with great empathy, emotional depth, and elegant prose. I especially appreciated the alternating perspectives of Ariadne and her sister Phaedra. Both women have distinct voices and compelling character arcs that unfold powerfully throughout the book. The writing is calm yet impactful, and the character development feels authentic and gripping. What affected me most was the quiet sense of tragedy woven through the story—and how clearly themes like power, powerlessness, and female strength are portrayed. This isn’t a typical hero’s tale, but a novel about self-determination, loss, sisterhood, and what remains when the myth ends. A story that lingers long after the last page—I wholeheartedly recommend it.

A recap of troy's war

Bewertung am 24.04.2023

Bewertungsnummer: 1928207

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

If you like history and you would like to understand better the war of troy, I recommend you reading this book. You will see the point of view of three women and how they fought through the patriarchy. I ended up loving Cassandra, to me she was the best character but everybody will feel connected with someone different. A 5 star read for sure!

My brother, the minotaur.

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Oh how much I simply love Jennifer Saint's books. She has such a wonderful way of telling a story, the pages fly by without you even noticing it and she always manages to catch me off guard even with stories I basically know already. Multiple times I had to put the book down and, sometimes just stare at it, sometimes take a breather and sometimes grab my phone to tell my friend (the one I always bother with details of my books.) This was the second time I read Ariadne, last time on holiday when it had just released and I think I loved it even more this time.
