The Goddess of Nothing At All Unwritten Runes, #1

I want to thank the Author for sending me an ARC of this book! Overall i really loved this book and I can highly recommend it. Below are my thoughts in a bit more detail: What i liked: - Sigyn's Character growth!! In the beginning the main character feels very young and naive, she is very stubborn and thinks just about herself and her goals. But she evolves so much through the story, i really started liking her character - LOKI!! I feel like a broken record at this point but i just can't help myself, i love Loki's character so much. I think the different aspects of his personality have all been very well represented in this book. While his story is very tragic, it is also clear that most of the time he himself is the reason for his misery. The romance between him and Sigyn was so sweet and precious, i just wanted to protect them both. - The Author does not hold back. Let me tell you, this book hurts. There are a lot of stories in the original Myths, that i kept wondering about, wether she would bring them into this story or not, since they would severly affect the relationships of certain characters. Cat Rector added them all. Maybe being familiar with the myths, makes it hurt even more, because you know what's coming... - it's very addictive to read What i did not like: - The beginng. At first i did not like the main character at all, a lot of things that happend felt very convenient, and i think the characters motivations and reasons to do certain things were a little unbelievable. I also think that the relationships developped a bit fast, but that way, we had more time for what came after, so after finishing the book i'm not really bothered by that. - It doesn't "feel" very norse. This is a bit hard to explain, but the way the people talk etc. feels much more modern. It lacked that certain something, that makes a book feel magical, out of this world, fairytale-esque... But once i got used to the tone of the book, i didn't care about that anymore, i just wanted to be with the characters and see where the story would go - Thor's characterisation... in this book Thor is just the big brute with no self control, no brain but a big heart. While i think that's probably not too far from the truth, it was a bit too over the top and too cliché for me
