The families of a valley tell the story of a nation. These valleys remember every name. First published in the late nineteenth century, Genealogical and Family History of the Wyoming and Lackawanna Valleys, Pennsylvania (Volume II) gathers painstakingly compiled lineages and biographical sketches of the men and women who shaped this corner of the Commonwealth. As a classic genealogical reference book and cornerstone Pennsylvania family history book, it traces connections across townships and counties, placing individual lives within the broader sweep of northeastern Pennsylvania local history. Focusing on the Wyoming and Lackawanna valleys, it offers richly detailed entries invaluable to anyone exploring Wyoming Valley Pennsylvania genealogy, Lackawanna Valley Pennsylvania genealogy, and the stories of northeastern Pennsylvania settlers whose names still anchor communities today. For family historians, librarians and archivists, the volume serves as a trusted resource for genealogists and as a local history researchers guide, sitting naturally beside other Pennsylvania county genealogies and titles in any serious American regional genealogy collection or private family history collection. Compiled by respected historian Horace Edwin Hayden, it remains a significant record of regional identity and memory. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure, ready to be rediscovered by casual readers of history and dedicated collectors alike who seek an authoritative window into the people of this distinctive place.
