Behind every great event in British history stands a life, carefully recorded here. The past lives on here. First issued in the late Victorian era under the general editorship of Sidney Lee, Dictionary Of National Biography (Volume Lv) Stow-Taylor forms part of the definitive British national biography, a monumental British biography dictionary devoted to English historical lives. This historical biographies volume gathers concise, authoritative portraits of notable British figures whose surnames run from Stow to Taylor, creating a richly textured biographical reference collection for anyone fascinated by politics, literature, science, religion, and public life. Ideal as both a British history reference and a living resource for historians, students, and family researchers, it serves as a dependable genealogy research reference as well as rewarding reading for the curious general browser. As a cornerstone of Victorian era scholarship and a direct ancestor of the modern Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, this classic British reference set preserves the voices, achievements, and reputations that helped define modern Britain. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Whether you are building a serious library, deepening research into Britain's past, or simply exploring the intertwined stories that lie behind familiar names, Volume Lv offers enduring insight and authority for casual readers, dedicated scholars, and collectors of British biography alike.
