Voices from the birth of a commonwealth, delivered straight from the record. Primary sources, plain and powerful. Pennsylvania Archives (Sixth Series) Volume IV assembles a substantial archival document collection that preserves Pennsylvania historical records in their original form, providing a Pennsylvania genealogy anthology and a rigorous genealogical research resource. The volume gathers material of practical use across generations: alongside family lineage data you will find military service records and revolutionary war documents that illuminate civic life and conflict in colonial Pennsylvania history and into nineteenth century Pennsylvania. Lightweight narrative gives way to documented substance - the kind of primary evidence that makes an ancestry tracing tool indispensable for family historians and, in turn, a reliable source for historians and researchers reconstructing local, military and administrative histories. Clear ordering and faithful reproduction make it accessible to casual readers while satisfying the demands of scholarly inquiry. Long valued by state scholars and cited across American historical archives, this volume contributes context as much as content, showing how local episodes fit the larger national story. Its documentary authority offers fresh texture to research and to reading alike, sharpening studies of governance, militia service and social change. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Reissued with care, this edition invites casual readers to trace family stories and classic-literature collectors to own a heritage title that doubles as a practical reference for libraries, societies and independent researchers. Careful editorial preparation preserves the texture of original entries while presenting them with modern clarity, making verification of names, ranks and dates straightforward for anyone engaged in ancestry work. The result is an edition that serves both as a practical genealogical research resource and as a tactile artefact for collectors who prize primary material.
