Specimens of King Alfred's Proverbs, Part 1 is a book written by L. G. Nilsson and published in 1859. The book contains a collection of proverbs attributed to King Alfred, who was the King of Wessex from 871 to 899. The proverbs are presented in their original Old English language, along with translations into modern English. The book is divided into two parts, with Part 1 containing 50 proverbs and Part 2 containing an additional 50 proverbs. The proverbs cover a wide range of topics, including wisdom, morality, and practical advice for daily life. The book is a valuable resource for scholars of Anglo-Saxon literature and culture, as well as for anyone interested in the history of the English language. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
