Sweet Arden: A Book of the Shakespeare Country is a travelogue written by George Morley and first published in 1906. The book takes the reader on a journey through the picturesque countryside of Warwickshire, England, which is famously associated with the life and works of William Shakespeare. The author provides vivid descriptions of the landscapes, villages, and historic sites that inspired Shakespeare's plays and poetry, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, and the Forest of Arden. Morley also discusses the customs, traditions, and legends of the local people, as well as the literary and historical figures who have lived in the region. The book is illustrated with black and white photographs and sketches, and includes a map of the area. Sweet Arden is a charming and informative guide to a beloved corner of England, and a must-read for Shakespeare enthusiasts and travelers alike. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
