Washington, The Nation¿¿¿¿¿¿¿s Capital is a historical book written by William Howard Taft, the 27th President of the United States. The book was first published in 1915 and provides a comprehensive overview of the development of Washington D.C. as the capital of the United States. In this book, Taft explores the history of the city from its founding in the late 18th century to the early 20th century. He discusses the political, social, and cultural events that shaped the city and its growth, including the construction of iconic buildings like the White House, the Capitol, and the Washington Monument. Taft also provides insights into the role of Washington D.C. as the seat of the federal government, including the workings of Congress and the presidency. He examines the city's unique position as a symbol of American democracy and its importance as a center of diplomacy and international relations. Throughout the book, Taft draws on his own experiences as a former president and resident of Washington D.C. to offer a personal perspective on the city's history and significance. Overall, Washington, The Nation¿¿¿¿¿¿¿s Capital is a fascinating and informative read for anyone interested in American history, politics, and culture. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
