The Life of Timon of Athens is a play written by William Shakespeare in the early 17th century. The play follows the life of Timon, a wealthy and generous Athenian who lavishes gifts and money on his friends and associates. However, when Timon falls into financial ruin and asks for help from those he has helped in the past, he is met with rejection and betrayal, leading him to become bitter and misanthropic. The play explores themes of friendship, greed, and the corrupting influence of money. This edition of the play was published in 1907 and includes an introduction and notes by the editor, as well as illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
