The Kansas Memorial: A Report of the Old Settlers¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ Meeting is a historical document written by Charles Sumner Gleed in 1879. The book is a report of a meeting held by the Old Settlers of Kansas, who gathered to commemorate the early days of the state and to honor the pioneers who had helped to settle it.The book provides a detailed account of the meeting, including the speeches given by various attendees, as well as the songs and poems that were recited. It also includes a list of the names of the early settlers who were present at the meeting, along with brief biographical sketches of some of the most prominent pioneers.Throughout the book, Gleed provides a vivid picture of life in early Kansas, describing the challenges and hardships faced by the settlers as they struggled to build their homes and communities in a harsh and unforgiving environment. He also highlights the resilience and determination of the early settlers, who persevered in the face of adversity to build a better life for themselves and their families.Overall, The Kansas Memorial is a fascinating and insightful look at the history of one of Americä¿¿¿¿¿¿s most iconic states, and a testament to the courage and fortitude of the men and women who helped to shape it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
