Diary Of A Southern Refugee, During The War is a historical book written by Judith White Brockenbrough McGuire and published in 1889. The book is a personal account of the author's experiences during the American Civil War as a refugee from the southern states. McGuire's diary entries provide a unique perspective on the war, detailing the struggles and hardships faced by southern civilians as they fled their homes and sought refuge in other parts of the country. She writes about the difficulties of travel, the lack of food and supplies, and the constant fear of violence and danger. The book also includes McGuire's observations on the political and social climate of the time, as well as her thoughts on the war and its impact on the southern states. Her writing is characterized by a strong sense of patriotism and loyalty to the southern cause, and she expresses her belief in the righteousness of the Confederacy's fight for independence.Overall, Diary Of A Southern Refugee, During The War is an important historical document that provides a firsthand account of the experiences of southern civilians during one of the most tumultuous periods in American history. It offers a unique perspective on the war and its impact on ordinary people, and is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the American Civil War.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
