The Other Bennet Sister

If you love Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice as much as I do, then this book feels like a long conversation with your best friend. It is both familiar and comforting, yet still manages to surprise and delight. I watched the BBC series first and knew I wasn’t ready to leave this story behind. I wanted to spend more time with these characters and this world and this book gave me exactly that. As much as I enjoyed the series, I loved the book even more. Janice Hadlow’s writing is beautiful and elegant, yet wonderfully accessible. Most of all, I became deeply invested in the characters. I shared their joys and their sorrows, celebrated their triumphs, and felt their disappointments. By the end, I cared for them so much that I even found myself in tears. A wonderful companion to Pride and Prejudice and a treat for anyone who has ever wondered about Mary Bennet’s story.

Ich bin "Fortsetzungen" zu Romanen von Jane Austen immer vorsichtig, weil ich damit schon zu oft auf die Nase gefallen bin, aber "The Other Bennet Sister" ist wundervoll und fügt sich perfekt in die Werke von Jane Austen ein. Wer Stolz und Vorteil geliebt hat, wird auch The Other Bennett Sister lieben.
