With the many celebrations of the »Feast of Christ« in 2017, the hope for a »new ecumenical spring« - so Pope Francis - has been rekindled. Expectations are directed towards the 3rd Ecumenical Kirchentag and the 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches in 2021. Our ecumenical future needs a broad basis and concrete forms. Hans-Georg Link brings together five building blocks: 1. the key questions of Christian existence as common foundations, 2. insights from the last five assemblies of the WCC, 3. theological contributions to ecumenical diversity, 4. proposals on current challenges, 5. perspectives on the conciliar fellowship in the 21st century.
The book begins with a meditation on the prayer of Jesus for the »oneness of all« and ends with a view to the year 2021.
