(German rating / translated into English by "Google") Conclusion / Quintessence "Find Me" (FM) is for me, an absolutely excellent book and for me a high-profile and excellent sequel to "Call Me by Your Name" (CMBYN). Many tears flowed while reading (1.5 days)! So – have handkerchiefs or tempos ready and the book will look like !!! It is amazing how a writer who is a husband, father of three children and, according to research, heterosexual in nature, can deliver such an outstanding and literary achievement. ABSOLUTELY TOP! While I can't understand why the vast majority of reviews for the book "Find Me" are rather negative, the fans of "CMBYN" have all been waiting for a sequel and it's here. With "CMBYN" the book was 288 pages long and in the 2 hours and 11 minutes long film of the same name, only about "Elio" and "Oliver". With "FM" many readers complain: ".... the first chapter "T E M P O" is about 100 pages only about the father of Elio..." Personally, I think it's important that after 15 years in "FM" you deal intensively with the life of your father. Let's remember the scene in "CMBYN", when pretty much at the end, the conversation only between the "father" and "Elio", ends in a very poignant monologue of the father. ... and when you get to page 134 of the book "Find Me" (after 15 years) and say "Elio" to his "Father" and his new girlfriend "Miranda" at the farewell : "Only one more thing. Years ago you said it to me, now it's my turn: I envy you both. Please don't break it." When I read that, the tears flowed like a waterfall, I didn't even get myself in. My eyes came out of my head like boiler rivets and I looked like I had drunk for three days. ... and actually, I also missed a chapter about the "Mama" of "Elio", because he was brought up so openly and freely by his parents at that time and grew up somewhere in northern Italy sheltered. Also in the chapter "C A D E N Z A (musical CADENCE)", where it is about "Elio" and "Michel", how you get to know each other and above all the research, about the score that Michel gives to Elio. That's fantastic and borders on a little thriller, because I wouldn't have expected that at all, in this chapter. OK! That's it! Just read the book "Find Me" yourself and luckily the tastes are different. Some of the dialogues of all participants in the book "Find Me" are very philosophical; intellectually and artistically, but that's okay and normal, but also very stylish. ... and the end that everyone has been waiting for. I won't reveal anything - READ IT YOURSELF!! It's not clichéd at all. GOOD! I haven't read the book "Call Me by Your Name", but I've seen the film twenty times and it's a revelation for me and I rediscover myself in Elio, because that happened to me in the 80s. At that age, one discovers oneself or searches for it: "... where do I actually belong..." and then it happens. You get to know a beautiful, pretty and great man who is also a little older and everything fits, be it the humor, the sex etc. etc. etc. THE FIRST GREAT LOVE! Then you will be abandoned or simply left standing (like the farewell between "Elio" and "Oliver" at the train station of "Clusone" in Italy). That hurts, you never get rid of it, it accompanies you your whole life and you never get over it again. And before you know it, the years fly by, you turn 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. years old and never find the right one or as "Elio" says: "... you don't want it at all...!" I find then like "Elio", only comfort in my music and that helps me immensely. You can't put it into words, except for the "writer" ANDRÉ ACIMAN!!! My respect! Absolutely justified, there was the "Oscar", for the best screenplay 2018. I hope the book "Find Me" will also be filmed and hopefully with the same actors as in "Call Me by Your Name". Let's also not forget the excellent dubbing for the movie: "Call Me by Your Name". I have to realize again and again that our voice actors are just great. As in the movie "Call Me by Your Name", you bring us every happy, sensual, emotional, erotic, heart-touching and sad mood, through your fantastic voices and certainly also through your acting experience. I'm always really excited about whether young or older actors are dubbed. Unfortunately, I think that the voice actors are far too little honored, because without you we would be upset. My respects to our voice actors! Last but not least! Of course, there is also a big THANK YOU to our literary translators, such as Mr. Thomas Brovot for the excellent translation for the book: "FIND ME" Simply great class!
