86--EIGHTY-SIX, Vol. 1 (light novel)

So if you are into gripping books, but want something a bit more complex and not generic, like me this is a book for you! Why? Well because Eighty Six is gripping, thrilling, and shows you the harsh reality of what could happen when Rassisms wins, and what atrocities people commit to cover them up. (Im looking at you WW2). But that is not all, we also have an apocalyptic scenario on us. Unmanned Robots equiped with an AI called Legion have gone loose, wich brings humanity to the brink of extinction. Eighty Six really shines with its approach to these themes, because they are woven so well into the narrative that it is not hindering the storys progression, and the messages are brought across to the reader with reltive ease. One of my favourite scenes is the scene where the female main character, is told that she is not seeing her subordinates as humans (There is a bit more to that, but lets just say it was very eye-opening for her and for me). It also does a good balance between those heavy themes and more lighthearted moments, and those dont come to short. For me the best thing about it are the two main characters and how they grow through another, only to be teared apart through the plot... or maybe not ? And last there is also an important thing to mention. This is an ongoing series, but the first volume was meant to be a standalone Book. That means if you plan to read the whole series then i advise you to not read the Epilouges of the first Volume as they spoiler the events of vol 2 and 3. Also if you dont want to read it, watch the anime on Crunchyroll, and then you will want to read it since the anime is also a total Masterpiece. PS: There is a german version now thats sadly only avaiable as E-Book at the moment but it soon covers the first 3 Volumes.
