Chapter one reports the evaluation of antioxidant activity of natural origin crocin (isolated from stigmas of Crocus sativus), kaempferol (isolated from corms and petals of Crocus sativus) and podophyllotoxin (isolated from rhizome of Podophyllum hexandrum) screened through in-vitro chemical, biochemical and electrochemical assays. Chapter two reports the in-vivo pharmacological evaluation of crocin and its modified form as nootropic agent (memory enhancing).
