Aru Shah is the first book I read published by 'Rick Riordan presents'. As a huge fan of Rick Riordan's works I was really excited about his imprint, mostly because I adored the idea of publishing 'authors from underrepresented cultures and backgrounds, to let them tell their own stories inspired by the mythology and folklore of their own heritage'. But let me tell you something about this book: i loved it. It reminded me so much of Riordans books. It's filled with humour, action, loveable characters and teaches you something about foreign mythology. Aru is a character with a lot of flaws and in fact, she lies a lot and yet, with her flaws, it's way easier to relate to her. Of course this book flooded me with lots of nostalgia and reminded me a lot of my teenage years. I'm definitely going to read the rest of the series and am going to give the other books released by the imprint a try!
