A rare glimpse into the life of a Hollywood icon during a turbulent era. In late autumn 1968, Dorian Bond is unexpectedly thrust into the world of Orson Welles, delivering cigars and film stock to Yugoslavia. This chance encounter blossoms into a unique friendship, with Bond becoming Welles' personal assistant and gaining a part in his next movie.
Me and Mr Welles transports you across Europe in the late 1960s, amidst student riots, the Vietnam War, and the rise of a new Hollywood. Experience:
- Intimate anecdotes about Winston Churchill, Marlene Dietrich, and Steve McQueen.
- Insider insights into Welles' film-making process and acerbic wit.
- A vivid portrayal of a turbulent time in history.
For readers seeking a blend of Hollywood biography, European travel, and 1960s cultural history, this memoir offers a fresh and engaging perspective on a legendary figure and a transformative decade.
