Rumbaut , Ph.D. (1978), Brandeis University, is Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine. He is the author of numerous books and articles on migration, ethnic identities, and transitions to adulthood, including Immigrant America: A Portrait (with Alejandro Portes, University of California Press, 2014).
