Breath of Fire The Kingmaker Chronicles 2

A Promise of Fire is, without question, a terribly underrated fantasy novel that deserves far more recognition than it gets. It offers the perfect combination of magic, danger, romance, and sharp wit, all wrapped into a story that is nearly impossible to put down (sleep became optional while reading this). The characters are wonderfully written, especially Cat, who is intelligent, strong, and far more entertaining than many protagonists in this genre. The chemistry between the leads is excellent, creating tension that is both delightful and slightly frustrating in the best possible way. The world-building is rich and immersive, with enough intrigue to keep every chapter exciting. Overall, this book was an absolute joy to read and proof that some of the best stories are hiding in plain sight.
