'What, then, is good preaching? It is preaching biblically; it is preaching attractively; it is preaching powerfully.'
New York pastor and acclaimed author Timothy Keller is widely known and respected for his compelling preaching, described by the New York Times as having 'helped turn Dr Keller... into the pastor many call Manhattan's leading evangelist'. In this book he shares his wisdom on communicating the Christian faith from the pulpit as well as from the coffee shop.
Most Christians - including pastors - struggle to talk about their faith in a way that applies the power of the Christian gospel to change people's lives. Timothy Keller is known for his insightful, down-to-earth sermons and talks that help people understand themselves, encounter Jesus and apply the Bible to their lives. In this accessible guide for pastors and laypeople alike, Keller helps readers learn to present the Christian message of grace in a more engaging, passionate and compassionate way.
'A reminder of the need for theology to have deep roots in the practical working out of the Christian faith... Keller's book could be read with profit by any Christian' - Church Times
[different type] Timothy Keller was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and educated at Bucknell University, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Westminster Theological Seminary. He moved to Manhattan in 1989 to found Redeemer Presbyterian Church, which has now grown to three distinct congregations and birthed the church-planting Redeemer City to City programme. Keller is the author of numerous bestselling books, including The Reason for God, The Prodigal God and most recently Making Sense of God, and the co-author, with his wife Kathy, of The Meaning of Marriage.
