A Closed and Common ORBIT Ausgezeichnet mit dem Hugo Award Best Series 2019

I enjoyed this one even more than the prequel. The story is divided into two perspectives and timelines that we switch between. This is an intriguing way of story-telling which I thoroughly enjoy. Furthermore, this novel has unique and highly loveable central characters (an AI and a human/clone!) and their stories and histories made for a fascinating read. Just like "A long way to a small and angry planet" this novel is a soft, feel good sci-fi which will comfort you and make you smile.

Die Wayfarers Trilogie (wobei es lässt sich diskutieren, ob man die drei Bücher streng genommen als Trilogie bezeichnen darf) wird zu einer meinen Lieblingstrilogien. Ich bin zum zweiten Mal beeindruckt vom Chambers Schreibstil und von der Fantasie und Liebe, mit denen sie diese Bücher geschrieben hat. Zwar bleibt die erste Band meine Lieblingsband, aber die zweite lässt sehr wenig zu wünschen. Ich freue mich auf die dritte.

3,5 stars This book is very character-driven and friendship is a big theme in it. I don't mind that in particular, I enjoyed it in fact, but A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet at least had an overall arc throughout the book and this one just hasn't. The pace was, moreover, a bit too slow for my liking and then the end wrapped up too nicely and fast. The characters are the heart of the story, though, and I loved them dearly. Becky Chambers is a pro in characterization. Looking forward to more novels set in this world!
