Ich habe das Buch mit keiner großen Erwartung angefangen, ich fand den Aufbau nur cool. Die ganzen Transkripte und E-mails waren mal was anderes. Ich dachte nicht, dass es mein Herz Zerstören und dann wieder etwas aufbauen und dann wieder zerreißen würde. Ich habe gelacht und geweint und geflucht und, ja, auch geschrien. Man könnte denken, dass durch diese unkonventionelle Erzählart das Innenleben der Charaktere nicht versteht, aber...man tut es. Nicht nur die Tagebucheinträge oder die Logs des AIs geben einem Einsicht in den Kopf der Protagonisten und auch Nebencharakteren, sondern auch ihr Ausdruck und Gespräche lassen einen blick erhaschen. Die Beziehungen zwischen den Charakteren waren toll! Manche mögen die Romanze nicht, aber ich glaube man klammert sich an das, was man liebt bei solch einer tödlichen Odyssey. Die Protagonisten habe ich absolut in mein Herz geschlossen, besonders Ezra irgendwie. (Wenn Kady ihn nicht will, nehme ich ihn!). Ich mag selbst AIDEN (den AI)...obwohl er echte Probleme hat. Aber genug gefangirlt! Das Fazit: Dieses Buch hat mir weh getan, aber verdammt have ich es genossen.

Awesome book, with interesting design and fantastic story! The book is not small, it contains 600 pages, but don't be afraid. The book is designed in a very exciting style, some pages can have literally a dozen words or half a page. The book is very easy to read and fast paced, and the story is gripping from the start.

Ich bin mit großen Erwartungen an dieses Buch rangegangen und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht, nein, sie wurden übertroffen, so sehr das ich wütend wurde wie gut es ist. Die Gestaltung des Buches ist einfach umwerfend und nichts womit ich gerechnet habe als ich es bestellt hatte.

When you hold it in your hands it's stunning. A very unique way to tell a story like that, but it worked out oh so well. The story was compelling from the very first page, confusing at first but so amazing throughout. worry big recommendation!

Oh my, this book is gorgeous. I have never seen anything like it and I really hope I will. Just with a better plot. I'm sorry to say this, but there is really nothing at all "never seen before" to this plot. It's basically a Zombie apocalypse in space. Which, sorry, is executed exactly as you'd expect. I'm also sick and tired of AIs wanting to become human and somehow falling in love with random girls, because it's weird. It's gross. It's unrealistic. There's also, obviously, a romance filled with teen angst and zombie-apocalypse angst in Illuminae, and once again, seen that before. The only thing special about this book is the design and yes, that is absolutely mind-blowingly gorgeous but it doesn't save this book from the averageness that is the plot.
