He loves with a depth that's almost frightening, but painfully human. He's raw, devoted, terrifying, and somehow... unforgettable. I didn't watch the series, so this review is based solely on the book. First of all, they share a toothbrush—intentionally. That alone is something to process. What I did enjoy was being inside the villain’s perspective. I hated how it made me root for him, but that’s also what kept me engaged. However, I think the execution could have been stronger. The plot didn’t always make sense, and there were moments that felt messy or underdeveloped. Despite that, it was still a fun read. I won’t be picking up the second book, but I don’t regret my time with this one.

Comparing to the show on Netflix, this book was a huge dissapointement. At first I actually thought I liked the book better but that changed as soon as I noticed the horrific amount of used "ands". It pains me to say that there were so many ands, I had to stop reading because the sheer sight of another "and" gave me chills. Just for the protocol: I counted in "You" per chapter 183 "ands", that makes an average of 33 per page. (Only counted in one chapter though, not the whole book) Meanwhile a "normal" book has about 10 "ands" per page on average. I am not joking when I say, this was the thing that made me stop reading. I really wanted to keep going because per se, I enjoyed the book. But all the "ands" really destroyed it for me.
