Sam Harris gelingt es in diesem Werk die Philosophie mit modernen neurowissenschaftlichen Überlegungen zu verknüpfen. Dazu führt er a priori Ausführungen an, die dafür sorgen, dass der Leserschaft die Erkenntnisse klar werden, ohne, dass man sich in wissenschaftlichen Ausführungen verliert.
Die Einblicke geben der Leserschaft ebenfalls eine neue Perspektive auf das Leben und auf das zwischenmenschliche Miteinander.
Vor allem, dass es dem Autor gelingt diese Gedanken auf so wenige Seiten zu konzentrieren ist beachtlich.
