Shakespeare, W: Hamlet

Personally, I love Shakespeare's "Hamlet" since it has a lot of complex characters and a plot with several twists and surprises. This Arden edition has especially caught my interest since it contains a lot of extra information on this and other editions (that are very useful if you really want to understand the text and its context). I would also recommend this edition for people who are "afraid" of Shakespeare's language since almost every word is glossed. If you have to read "Hamlet" for an exam, I undoubtedly suggest to use this edition!

Hard to believe that this country-lad from Stratford-upon-Avon appeared from out of nowhere only to produce one immortal masterpiece after the next. "Hamlet" has often - and probably justly - been appraised as his greatest work. As far as the depth, the timeless insights into human nature and the mastery of language are concerned, one can certainly subscribe to this view. One of the greatest works of literature ever written and, accordingly, an "absolute must". "The Arden Shakespeare" has for a long time been considered amongst scholars as THE edition of the grandmaster´s works, and deservingly so. All this at a very favourable price.
