Als ich mit On the Edge anfing zu lesen erwartete ich eine Heldin à la Kate Daniels, das ist Rose allerdings in der Tat nicht. Rose ist das normale Mädchen von nebenan mit vlt ein bisschen mehr Verantwortung als andere, da sie ihre kleinen Brüder schon seit Jahren alleine aufzieht.
Die Welt in diesem Buch entspricht der unseren, nur dass wir nomalen Menschen nicht alles davon sehen und erfahren können, Rose und die Protagonisten in ihren Folgeromanen jedoch schon.
Ich finde das in dieser Buchreihe der Schwerpunkt vielmehr auf der Darstellung vom Leben der "edger" zwischen den Welten und ihrer Problembewältigung liegt, als der Geschichte einer einzigen Heldin und kann daher auch etwaige vage Entwicklungen in der Romance verzeihen ;)
Insgesamt war ich positiv von dem Roman überrascht und bewerte ihn genauso gut wie die Kate Daniels Bücher und sogar noch besser als "Magic Bites" denn dort gibt es noch mehr Unschlüssigkeiten und Fehler im Geschichtsverlauf zu bemengeln ;) Insgesamt ist es einer meiner absoluten Favoriten die die urban fantasy zu bieten hat =)
