Anne Rice hat mit dieser Trilogie ein düsteres Fantasy-Meisterwerk geschaffen, oder in ihren eigenen Worten ein "Gothic epic". Ihr ergreifender Schreibstil und die originelle Geschichte über einen Hexenclan aus New Orleans und Schottland machen diese Bücher zu etwas Besonderem.
