Frankenstein Reimagined

Sabrina aus Wien am 09.11.2015

Bewertungsnummer: 383051

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

"The Madman's Daughter" is the first book in a trilogy that is reminiscent of "Frankenstein". Six years after her father's disappearance Juliet's mother dies and leaves her daughter penniless and alone in the city of London. When she also loses her job, Juliet finds herself on the verge of having to live on the streets. Luckily, she runs into an old acquaintance and finds out that her father is still alive and living in exile. Having nothing to lose, Juliet decides to cross half the world to get to him. But how will that turn out? After all, her father left London for a reason - and a scandalous one at that. Are the rumors to be believed or is he an innocent man wrongly accused of unspeakable crimes? I enjoyed reading this book very much. The main character is likeable and strong-minded, the story entertaining and fast to read and the love triangle is a welcome bonus. I will definitely pick up the sequel soon to find out how Juliet's journey goes on. I recommend this book to teenagers aged 13 and up.
