Hedychium spicatum is perennial rhizomatus plants belonging to the Zingiberaceae family, extracts have long been used in traditional medicine. Physiochemical parameter have been established for the standardization and validation of plant, phytochemical screening of different successive fraction obtained from soxhlet, phytochemical investigation of essential oil using Clarus-500; Perkin elmer with flame ionization detector, CP-8 capillary column made by Varian, length 60 meter, diameter 0.32mm, film thickness 0.25 µm Gas chromatography led to identify and quantify four compound; a-terpineol, geemacrene-B, a-endosmol, ß-endosmol with four know compound; limonene, 1,8-cineole, linalool, terpene-4-ol, investigation of the methanolic extract using CAMAG Linomate-5 HPTLC system with CAMAG Reproster scanner, and CAMAG Linomate-5 applicator lead to identify four compound; flavone, kaempferol, lupeol, ursolic acid, sitosterol.
