These books got me obsessed with Greek mythology when I was 13 and this obsession has stayed with me ever since… I never quite got warm with the Percy Jackson approach - the demigods being direct children of the Greek gods and therefore, technically, making them all related to each other…gross. In contrary, I absolutely LOVED the world building in the Starcrossed-series and absolutely refuse to accept any other approach on Greek demigods ever since… Other than that it also has the enemies-to-lovers-trope but in a more inorganic (do they have a choice in being anything else then enemies?) way than you’re used to and it totally works! The setting is absolutely beautiful and I think daily about some of the side characters. Definitely recommend this books as a light summer read :)

Starcrossed" is the first book of the Starcrossed-trilogy and is a young adult fantasy romance novel written by Josephine Angelini. This book tells the story of 16 year old Helen Hamilton. She doesn't know, that she is very special: she is a half-god and owns outstanding abilities like strength, speed and handling lightnings. One day the girl meets Lucas Delos, a very good-looking boy, for the first time. One the one hand she immediately fells attraction to him, but on the other hand a deeply rooted hate infested her and she tries to kill him. This is because of an ancient curse, which tries to seperate them. If they would fall in love they could trigger a new Trojan War. Can love be stronger than hate? Can they be together? I read the german and english version several times, because of its charakters and its special love-story. It is really well written and every time I read it, I immediately jump in the world of greek mythology. It is imaginative, romantic and absolutely outstanding!!
