If you're looking for a scary Horror-story or an action-packed thrill-ride - this is probably not the book for you. Not that it's NOT scary, or thrilling, or no-I-don't-want-to-go-to-work-please-let-me-read-one-more-page addictive, but that's not what it's really about. What it's about, first and foremost, are the characters like only King can write them. They take you in completely, and even when the story would have gotten too slow or too cheesy in somebody else's hands, here they remain fascinating and real. As an added bonus for fellow constant-readers, there are SO MANY references to several of his books, especially in the beginning, and it kind of makes me want to reread my entire collection.

King ist in den letzten Jahren viel mehr ins Psychologische abgedriftet. Auch in 11/22/63 spielt der Meister gekonnt mit dem "Horror" des Alltags - oder eben der Vergangenheit. Der Roman bietet keine oder wenige historische Fakten über das Kennedy-Attentat, verbindet das Ereignis aber überaus unterhaltend mit Fiktion. Auf die Charaktere kommt es an, was King hier wieder einmal beweist. Teilweise kitschig, teilweise sehr spannend, liest sich 11/22/63 fast in einem Guss. Eine Mischung aus Sci-Fi, Thriller und Romance.
