Otto Huber, geb. 1944 in Bischofswiesen (D), wächst in Meran auf, lebt 28 Jahre lang in Venezuela, arbeitet seit 2001 wieder in Südtirol. Studium der Biologie, Botanik und Geografie. Bisherige wissenschaftliche Tätigkeiten: Research Associate am New York Botanical Garden (USA), Berater des Venezolanischen Umweltministeriums, Direktor der Fundación Instituto Botánico de Venezuela, Professor für Botanik und Pflanzengeografie an der Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Mitarbeiter der Gärten von Schloss Trauttmansdorff in Meran und seit 2011 am Naturmuseum.
