Scott Pilgrim Precious Little Slipcase Collection

My girlfriend got me this precious little boxset as a gift after I watched the movie for the first time and absolutely fell in love with it. This series is about a chaotic nerd-love-story between Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers, who unfortunatly has seven evil Ex's who want to defeat Scott. Basically Scott has to fight one evil Ex per book until he can finally be with Ramona for the rest of their lives. Bryan Lee O'Malley created a genre-mix of japanese mangas, traditional english comics and videogames, all in one series! At first it may seem a little off beat (intended music joke as Scott Pilgrim himself plays in a band :-) ) and over the top but I got used to it pretty fast and started to love O'Malley's way of storytelling. I have to say that the art may seem a bit childish for one or the other but it works fine with the protagonist and his view of the world and all his surroundings. There is so much more to say about the books but the less I say the better. If you are geek, a nerd, interested in manga or comics or videogames or just enjoy funny and chaotic love stories this is an absolute must have! Even if you are non of the above I would recommend this wonderful Box of art!
