While I enjoyed the first time I read The Way of Kings I found Kaladins part of the story sometimes less enjoyable than Shallans. The second time I read The Way of Kings I thoroughly enjoyed both Shallans and Kaladins POV. Probably one of the best first books in a series I have ever read.

Epic fantasy at its best!

This book marks the beginning of a truly epic saga spanning 4 books (so far!). One of the most unique worlds I have ever come across in a book. A world where mighty storms sweep across the lands, fueling magical stones with stormlight in their wake. You have to read the book to understand the work Sanderson has put into the world-building and magic system. Furthermore, some of the finest character work in fantasy can be found between these pages. The characters are so believable that you can't help but root for them or, in the case of the villains, hope for their ultimate demise. A must read for all fantasy lovers!
