The Pilgrim Fathers: Or Founders Of New England In The Reign Of James The First (1866) is a historical book written by William Henry Bartlett. The book explores the story of the Pilgrim Fathers, a group of English Separatists who fled from religious persecution in England and established a colony in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620. The book provides a detailed account of the Pilgrims' journey to America, their struggles to survive in a new and harsh environment, and their interactions with the Native American tribes. The author also delves into the political and religious climate of England during the reign of James I, which led the Pilgrims to seek refuge in America. The book is filled with interesting anecdotes and insights into the lives of the Pilgrim Fathers, including their relationships with each other, their beliefs and values, and their impact on the development of New England. Overall, The Pilgrim Fathers: Or Founders Of New England In The Reign Of James The First (1866) is a fascinating and informative read for anyone interested in American history, the Puritan movement, or the early colonization of the United States. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
