Memoir of General William Hull is a historical book written by Samuel Clarke in 1893. The book is a detailed account of the life and military career of General William Hull, who was a prominent figure during the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. The book begins with a brief introduction to General William Hull and his family background. It then chronicles his early life and military career, including his service in the Revolutionary War and his role in the Ohio Indian Wars. The main focus of the book is on Hull's leadership during the War of 1812, particularly his ill-fated invasion of Canada in 1812. The book provides a detailed account of the events that led up to the invasion, as well as the battles and skirmishes that took place during the campaign. The book also explores the controversies surrounding Hull's leadership, including his controversial decision to surrender Detroit to the British in 1812. The book provides a critical analysis of Hull's actions and decisions during the war, and offers insights into his character and personality. Overall, Memoir of General William Hull is a fascinating and informative read for anyone interested in American military history, the War of 1812, or the life and career of General William Hull. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
