The Cid Ballads V1: And Other Poems And Translations From Spanish And German (1887) is a collection of poems and translations by James Young Gibson. The book contains a selection of ballads about the legendary Spanish hero, El Cid, as well as other poems and translations from Spanish and German literature. The Cid Ballads are a series of poems that tell the story of Rodrigo D¿¿¿¿¿¿az de Vivar, a Castilian nobleman and military leader who lived in the 11th century. The ballads are considered some of the finest examples of Spanish literature and have been a popular subject for poets and writers for centuries. In addition to the Cid Ballads, the book includes translations of poems by German writers such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller, as well as original poems by Gibson himself. The collection is a testament to the enduring popularity of the Cid legend and the power of poetry to transcend time and language. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
