The Knave of Clubs is a satirical pamphlet written by Samuel Rowlands and published in 1609. The book is a collection of short stories and poems that poke fun at the social and political issues of the time. The title character, the Knave of Clubs, is a symbol of the common man who is often overlooked and mistreated by the upper classes. Through his adventures, Rowlands highlights the corruption and hypocrisy of those in power, as well as the struggles of everyday people. The book is written in a humorous and irreverent style, with a focus on wordplay and puns. It is considered a classic example of Elizabethan satire and a valuable insight into the social and political climate of the era. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
