A Memoir of Henry C. Carey is a biographical work written by William Elder and published in 1880. The book tells the life story of Henry C. Carey, an American economist and businessman who played a significant role in shaping economic policies in the United States during the mid-19th century. The memoir traces Carey's early life, education, and career, including his work as a successful businessman and his contributions to the development of the American railway system. It also explores Carey's political views and his advocacy for protectionist economic policies, which he believed would benefit American workers and industries. The book is a detailed account of Carey's life and work, and provides insight into the economic and political landscape of the United States during the mid-19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
