A Mother's Portrait is a memoir written by Frederick James Jobson in 1857, which serves as a tribute to his mother. The book is a heartfelt account of the author's relationship with his mother, and the impact she had on his life. It provides a glimpse into the life of a devout Wesleyan family in the mid-19th century, including their religious practices and services. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is a series of sketches of Wesleyan life, which includes descriptions of the author's childhood, his mother's piety, and his own experiences as a Wesleyan minister. The second part of the book is a memorial to the author's mother, which includes anecdotes and memories of her life and character. Throughout the book, the author expresses his deep love and admiration for his mother, and the profound influence she had on his life. He also reflects on the importance of family, faith, and community in shaping one's character and values. A Mother's Portrait is a touching tribute to a mother's love and the enduring legacy of family and faith. It provides a fascinating glimpse into the life of a Wesleyan family in the 19th century, and is a valuable historical document for those interested in the history of religion and family life.In Letters To A Younger Sister.
