""The Witness of the Old Testament to Christ"" is a book written by Stanley Leathes and published in 1868. The book explores the connection between the Old Testament and the New Testament, specifically how the prophecies and teachings of the former point towards the coming of Jesus Christ. Leathes argues that the Old Testament is not only a historical record of the Jewish people, but also a prophetic work that foretells the coming of the Messiah, and that this message is essential to understanding the New Testament. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of the Old Testament's witness to Christ. Leathes examines the prophecies of the coming Messiah, the types and shadows of Christ found throughout the Old Testament, and the moral and spiritual teachings that point towards Christ's redemptive work. He also discusses the historical context of the Old Testament and how it influenced the Jewish people's understanding of the Messiah.Overall, ""The Witness of the Old Testament to Christ"" is a scholarly and insightful work that sheds light on the connection between the Old and New Testaments. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in biblical studies or Christian theology. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
