I'm sorry, but the description provided is incorrect. The book is not written by William Shakespeare, but rather it is a play that was falsely attributed to him. The correct title of the book is ""Pseudo-Shakespearean Plays, Vol. 1: The Comedy of Fair Em"" and it was first published in 1883. The play is a comedic tale of a young woman named Fair Em who disguises herself as a man in order to escape her cruel stepmother and find her true love. The play is written in a style that imitates Shakespeare's language and is often referred to as a ""Shakespearean pastiche."" Despite being falsely attributed to Shakespeare, the play has been performed and studied by scholars of English literature for over a century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
