""Oliver Cromwell, The Protector: A Historical Tragedy, In Five Acts"" is a play written by John Watkins and published in 1848. The play tells the story of Oliver Cromwell, a controversial figure in English history who served as Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1653 until his death in 1658. The play is divided into five acts and portrays Cromwell's rise to power, his struggles with Parliament, his military campaigns, and his eventual downfall. The play also explores Cromwell's personal life, including his relationships with his wife and children. Overall, ""Oliver Cromwell, The Protector"" is a dramatic and engaging portrayal of one of England's most complex historical figures. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
