""Our National Vice"" is a book written by William Reid in 1858 that explores the issue of alcoholism in America. Reid argues that alcoholism is a national vice that is responsible for a variety of social problems, including poverty, crime, and family breakdowns. He examines the history of alcohol consumption in America, including the rise of the temperance movement and the impact of alcohol on various segments of society. Reid also discusses the medical and psychological effects of alcoholism and offers advice on how to combat the problem. The book is a passionate call to action for Americans to recognize the dangers of alcohol and take steps to address the issue. It is a valuable historical document that sheds light on a significant social issue of the time and remains relevant today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
