Layamon's Brut; Or Chronicle Of Britain V2 is a book that contains a poetic semi-Saxon paraphrase of the Brut of Wace. The author of this book is Frederic Madden. The Brut of Wace is a historical work that tells the story of Britain from the time of its mythical founding by Brutus, a Trojan prince, to the Norman Conquest of 1066. Layamon's Brut is a Middle English poem that is based on Wace's work but also includes additional material. The poem is written in a unique dialect of Middle English known as semi-Saxon. This book is the second volume of the Layamon's Brut series and provides a complete description of the events that occurred during the reign of King Arthur. The book is a valuable source of information for historians and scholars interested in the history of Britain and the development of the English language. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
