The Fredoniad Or Independence Preserved V2 is a lengthy epic poem written by Richard Emmons and originally published in 1827. The poem is set during the War of 1812, which was fought between the United States and Great Britain. The Fredoniad tells the story of the war from the American perspective, celebrating the bravery and heroism of American soldiers and their allies. The poem is divided into twelve books, each of which focuses on a different aspect of the war. The first book sets the stage for the conflict, while subsequent books cover key battles and events. Along the way, Emmons weaves in themes of patriotism, freedom, and the importance of preserving American independence. The Fredoniad is notable for its use of classical epic conventions, including a focus on heroic deeds, elevated language, and an emphasis on the role of the gods in human affairs. Overall, The Fredoniad Or Independence Preserved V2 is an important work of American literature that offers a unique perspective on a pivotal moment in the nation's history. In Four Volumes. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
