""A Brief History Of Old English Porcelain And Its Manufactories"" by Louis Marc Solon is a comprehensive guide to the history and production of English porcelain. First published in 1903, the book provides a detailed account of the development of porcelain manufacturing in England, from its early beginnings in the 18th century to the Victorian era.The book is divided into three main sections: the first section provides a historical overview of the various porcelain manufactories that operated in England, including their founders, locations, and production methods. The second section focuses on the artistic and industrial aspects of English porcelain, examining the different styles and techniques used by manufacturers to create their products. The final section offers a critical appreciation of the various productions of the English porcelain manufactories, including a discussion of their aesthetic qualities and their place in the wider history of ceramics.Throughout the book, Solon draws on his extensive knowledge of the subject matter to provide a detailed and engaging account of the history and production of English porcelain. He also includes numerous illustrations and photographs of porcelain pieces, providing readers with a visual reference for the various styles and techniques discussed in the text.Overall, ""A Brief History Of Old English Porcelain And Its Manufactories"" is an essential resource for anyone interested in the history of English porcelain and its place in the wider history of ceramics. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
