Die Geschichte handelt von Billy Pilgrim, einem Optiker aus Amerika, der als Soldat in den Zweiten Weltkrieg zieht und bei der Bombardierung Dresdens dabei ist. Sein größtes Problem ist jedoch, dass er die Zeit nicht chronologisch erlebt, so wie wir es kennen, sondern in seiner eigenen Timeline hin und her wechseln kann. Egal welche Reihenfolge.
Schlachthof 5 schwenkt zwischen Tatsachen und Fiction hin und her ohne dabei an Sinnhaftigkeit zu verlieren. Vonnegut vermittelt eine klare Anti-Kriegs-Botschaft, die einen zum Denken anregt.
Für alle, die eine gute Satire zu schätzen wissen

Ein unglaublich gutes Buch. Englische Literatur...Die Geschichte von Billy Pilgrim ist einfach abgedreht und krass. Sie fängt normal an und verwandelt sich dann in eine Science-Fiction-Fantasy-Thriller Story. Absolut empfehlenswert!
