    Sometimes too true

    „A friend of the earth“ is one of the very few stories about a catastrophe, without a hero in it that really is a hero. An old environmentalist lives now in a world where everything he fought for is long gone. Even though it took me a long time to read this book, because it was depressing, I still think it really is worth reading. The figure of Ty Tierwater, the main figure, is very controversial but understandable, and somehow human at the same time, which brings this story to live.
